Not much to mention here, the studio of Son Electronique is completely inside an Apple iMac 27’ late 2015 with 3,3 Ghz and 8 GB of RAM, the audio interface is a CI2+ from Steinberg.
All recordings are made with the fantastic Logic Pro X.
The instruments are software such as Native Instruments Komplete 10 Ultimate, the Arturia V-Collction 5, the fantastic Synthwerk by Best Service and the amazing stuff from u-He like Diva and Bazille. For mixing I prefer the stuff from Softube, SPL and Waves, besides the real fantastic stock plug-ins which come with Logic Pro X.
„External" equipment doesn’t make sound -it is only Native Instruments Maschine Mikro and Native Instruments KOMPLETE Kontrol S49 Keyboard.
God damn, no real gear? How does it work?
Working only in the box was one of my main reasons to continue making music. I love total recall and I don't have the space nor the money to run a hugh battery of synths or mixing gear. I love to switch on the computer, find some ideas, develop them and then send my Mac to sleep. For me it works perfectly, I love to work that way. Today you're even able to use an iPad for making music. Develop something in Garage Band and send it to Mac's Logic. A great idea.
In the 1980's no one could imagine to run a whole production on a PC or Mac.
Maybe in some years we will be able to run a whole production on a tablet. In 2010 Steve Jobs created the words "Post PC era". Let's see ....
